Introduction to On-Board Training Sailing Placement:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On Board Training requirement to enable appearance for Competency (CoC) Rank Examinations of a Flag State is termed as Placement after completion of merchant navy presea courses. Duration of training in sailing as eligibility for appearance in CoC Exams arrived commonly by all Flag States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presently for Indian CoC Exams, Engine Cadet should have completed 6 months of on board training in sailing to appear for CoC Exams, if the cadet had already undergone 6 Months of afloat training on approved Ship-in-Campus constructed for this purpose. Otherwise, sailing training period shall be 12 months for both engineering and deck cadets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guaranteed Placement Program @ SNMA: From 2021 Batch (Selected Courses)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For cadets enrolling into this optional guaranteed placement program before commencement of course, placement is assured by the Institution. Agreement is provided for such enrolled candidates before commencement of course towards their placement within 12 months from the date of their graduation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only additional performance clauses are that cadet secures pass in their qualification in “First Class” (60% above), apart from proving atleast average proficiency in English communication by passing IELTS Exams with a scoreband of 6 or above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Happens if Placement Not Provided after opting for Placement Guarantee Programme ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Foresaid Agreement includes consent of Institution to refund fees as per details mentioned below to the sponsor or parent from the fees paid by them, if the institution is not able to place eligible cadets meeting criteria within foresaid stipulated time of one year period. SNMA is the only institution to extend this guaranteed placement programme to its eligible cadets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does institution operate this Placement Guarantee Program: Planning from Day 1 of Admissions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Planning for placement, relevant activities associated with onboard training placement of enrolled cadets begin from first month of the course by Institution Officials despite four years of training duration existing for their course completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Courses are covered under this Placement Guarantee Program ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Presently this program is offered optionally for willing cadets pursuing BSc Nautical Science, BE Marine Engineering (1st Year admissions), Graduate Marine Engineer (GME) and Electro Technology Officer training programmes. Not offered to BE Marine Engg (Lateral Entry) and CCMC Courses. Students Cadets will need to enroll specifically for this program before commencement of presea training course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if you do not enroll Guaranteed Placement Program ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Still, you are enrolled by default on Institution’s Placement Assistance Programme. Institution still thrives hard to ensure all its trainees are well placed comfortably. Student cadet profiles will still be referred to Companies for their recruitment. Placement interviews will be facilitated. Familiarization for Shipping Company Recruitment Exams will still be provided along with all other cadets. But as per general industry trends, only the best and meritorious gets placed by selection of Shipping Companies. The institution remains loyally by yourside regardless of the cadet opting for Guaranteed Placement Programme or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
